Start Sysinstall and proceed until you reach the Sysinstall Main Menu. Select the Configure option from the Main Menu. This may look confusing since it refers to “post-install” but it is the correct choice.
The FreeBSD Configuration Menu will display. Select Networking and press ENTER.
Select the appropriate ethernet interface from the menu. In this example, ed0 is the ethernet device which connects to the DSL modem.

Enter the appropriate information as shown above. Leave the IPv4 Gateway and the IPv4 Address blank. This is an Ugly Method (tm) and will produce a few warnings but it will allow connection using PPPoE.
